I was going to post a new idea but my request falls under this same idea although my request is very specific. We utilize the student ID as the main driver for everything in the system. The student ID comes from our SIS and should never be modified. On multiple occasions, I've been on the Patron Information screen and inadvertently changed the patron ID to the next student I was about to search for. The location of the patron ID search field is very close to the relative location of the patron ID on the Patron Information screen so (for me anyway) it was easy to lose my focus and put the search parameter in the wrong place. I'd like the ability to disable editing the patron ID field on the Patron Information screen--this includes for admin users. As the poster of the original idea indicated, this only applies to students as we (food service) make up the adult IDs--they don't come from the SIS.
