From Craig Niehaus at Clark-Pleasant:
1) Is there a way to create a summary item on the production record? A great example of this functionality is the way one can group items on the online menu system by giving them the same menu description. Only when one clicks on the "group" item, do they see the list. This saves space. In the case of the production record, the reason I'd like to have this functionality, is to list a general item such as "fruit" that managers can't actually add quantities to but when the click on it, they can select the fruits they really used (which I wouldn't know ahead of time) and then add the quantities. I saw this functionality in one of the systems I was evaluating alongside eTrition (Cybersoft SchoolCafe) and thought it was a very cool feature. In our current menu planning software, I add a general item as a kind of prompt for the managers to add the actual fruits, veggies, grains they used and then ideally they would delete the general item. The problem is sometimes managers just add the quantities in the general item which tells me nothing about what they actually used.
this is a great idea. I sent you an email with this:
Hi Craig
Thank you for submitting this idea on our idea portal. Option for "summary" item on Production record | eTrition Ideas Portal
I want to make sure I am interpreting it correctly.
On the Production Record we would show only one row when there is a recipe with more than one item on the menu with the same Menu Description (Choice of Fruit, Milk Variety, etc)
The user would select the recipe and a pop-up would show with the list of items on the menu with that Menu Description and the user would enter the actual production for each item in the pop-up.
When the save the pop-up the totals from all the items would appear on the single line item. This single line item would be read-only and the actual numbers would be added\updated in the pop-up?
My only question is in the pop-up would we ONLY show the actual recipes that are on that menu with that Menu Description or ALL recipes with that Menu Description even if they aren’t on the menu. I would assume in most cases, they are all on the menu anyway unless you offer different varieties on different days.
Looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks again.
