Why is it useful?
This feature enables all members of the nutrition team to easily determine whether an ingredient has been reviewed and whether its allergen information is current. As a result, when an ingredient is included in a report, team members can be confident that the allergen data is accurate and up to date.
Who would benefit?
Nutrition assistants at each site and the Nutrition Specialist.
How would they benefit?
Nutrition assistants can confidently generate reports that exclude specific allergens (such as X, Y, and Z), knowing that the recipes and ingredient data have been reviewed and are accurate. For the Nutrition Specialist, this feature helps ensure that only reviewed ingredients are used in reports and recipes while also providing a clear reminder of items that still require review.
How should it work?
Perhaps including a check box next to "allergens" per ingredient - one that says "Allergens and Nutrition Label Reviewed." Once the check box is marked, it can become "locked" with the date in which it was selected. Recipes where all ingredients are checked can include a status stating "all ingredients reviewed" or "# ingredient review pending." Open to ideas.
